Chabot Canyon Racquet Club provides 2 hot courts
for drop in tennis each Monday through Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m.
through 7:00 p.m. The Club's objective is to have fair and fun play
and to provide the best matches for all parties who drop in for hot
court.
- Hot court is directed by a Staff or Club member appointed by the
Club Manager.
- Hot court is primarily doubles play. The level of players who
come to hot court can range from 3.0 to open. Also, players may be
both men and women. Because there may be a wide range of skill
levels on any given day, Court 1 is usually used by the more skilled
players and Court 2 is used by everyone else. The Staff member in
charge of hot court puts together the best teams possible on both
courts.
- The format is round robin, one set, with no-ad scoring. If no
one is waiting to go on court, regular scoring may be used.
- Once a set is started, it will be completed before waiting
players may go on court. Once the set is completed, losing players
give up the court to waiting players, if any. If no one is waiting,
players may begin a new set.
- The Staff member will fill in as a player when needed. Once the
Staff member becomes the 4th player for doubles, he or she may
complete the set, even if other members arrive to play.
