Chabot Canyon Racquet Club provides a ladder system
determined first by an annual club championship tournament in January
and secondly, by challenges to those on the ladder throughout the
year. There is a separate ladder for each NTRP level from 3.0 through
Open rankings.
- Challenges must first be made in the ladder of the player's NTRP
level, unless the challenger is number 1 (Red) on the ladder. A
player in the Red position may challenge at the next NTRP level.
- A player wishing to challenge must challenge within 4 places
above his or her ranking on the ladder. Each time the challenger
wins, his or her name replaces that of the losing player and the
other names below the challenge move down. If the challenger loses,
his or her name is placed at the bottom of the ladder.
- The challenging player supplies ball for the match and reserves
the court for1½ hours at a time and date agreed by both parties.
- If a challenged player does not agree to a match, the challenger
receives credit for a won challenge and the rule in 2 above applies.
